January 2014 Community Conversation
Mormons Building Bridges holds an ongoing series of public discussions around issues of interest to the LGBT and LDS community. Every month on the same night, we hold meetings in public libraries along the Wasatch front. Our goal is to create a safe space where individuals of all backgrounds and philosophies can come together and join in civil discourse.
January’s Question: Should the Utah legislature pass the Utah Housing and Employment Opportunity Act?
A moderator from Mormons Building Bridges facilitates a conversation where all participants have the opportunity to speak their truth. The evening is not be about trying to change anyone’s mind, but rather a chance to share how you approach the issue, and listen respectfully to the approaches of others. These meetings are grounded in the conviction that the human experience is complex and progress only comes when we listen, love, and seek to understand.
7:00-8:30pm, Tuesday, January 21, at a public library near you or online via Google Hangout.
